Dr Labaran Magaji, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State (SSG), has rallied support for Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s preferred governorship aspirant, Sen. Ahmed Wadada, and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Magaji made the call on Wednesday in Lafia during separate meetings with Permanent Secretaries and Directors from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The SSG, who is also the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, appealed to the senior civil servants to support Wadada’s emergence as governor, describing the decision as one anchored on fairness.

According to him, Gov. Sule had fulfilled his promise by zoning the governorship seat to Nasarawa West and publicly endorsing Wadada.

“Having done that, he seeks your support and understanding to ensure the success of the project,” Magaji said.

He further disclosed that the governor had purchased his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the Nasarawa North Senatorial District seat.

Magaji also conveyed the governor’s appreciation to the permanent secretaries and directors for their continued support to the administration.

“He asked me to commend you, even though he has done that personally, but to reiterate how much he values your support, particularly during the recent solidarity rally held in his honour,” he said.

The SSG commended the officials for maintaining professionalism and upholding the oath of secrecy, noting that their conduct had curtailed unauthorised leakage of government information.

“With the set of permanent secretaries we have, it clearly shows that we are fully in control of our respective ministries. I urge you to continue strengthening your records,” he added.

Responding, Abigail Waya, the State Head of Civil Service, who spoke on behalf of the permanent secretaries and directors, reaffirmed their loyalty to the administration.

Waya described the governor’s choice of Wadada as being in the interest of fairness and assured that civil servants would align with the decision.

“Our loyalty is total as civil servants. Whoever the governor has chosen, we will support,” she said.
