Update: Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases hit 188880

Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases on Wednesday rose to 188,880 according to a report by the Nigeria Desease Control Centre, NCDC.

The Centre announced 637 new infections on Wednesday.

According to the NCDC, the fresh cases were reported from 19 States; Lagos-322, Rivers-70, Edo-54, Delta-34, Akwa Ibom-31, Kwara-31, FCT-29, Ekiti-17, Ogun-14, Osun-10, Kebbi-8, Cross River-5, Plateau-3, Taraba-3, Kaduna-2, Bayelsa-2, Benue-1, Enugu-1 and Kano-1.

Six States; Gombe, Kano, Nasarawa, Oyo, Sokoto, and Zamfara reported zero case.

Recall that as of August 25, 2021, Nigeria had successfully managed 169,382 cases while 2,288 deaths had been recorded.
