Nigeria Customs Service seizes smuggled items worth N360.2m

Nigeria Customs Service, federal operations unit, Zone B, Kaduna, has seized smuggled items worth N360, 227,250.00.

Comptroller Mustapha Sarkin-Kebbi disclosed this while presenting its record of stewardship in the last 40 days.

Seized items displayed by Sarkin-Kebbi included:
155 parcels of Indian hemp, 3,342 bags of 50kg foreign rice criminally re-bagged with Made in Nigeria local bags, 34 motor vehicles and other contraband items in various locations within the Zone.

He said the duty paid value (DPV) of items presented stood at N360,227,250.00.

The Comptroller said that the Unit would not relent in its effort to rid the zone of all smuggling activities.

The Federal Operations Unit comprises 10 states within the North-West and North-Central geopolitical zones with Kaduna as its administrative Headquarters.
