This commitment was demonstrated as the Board celebrated the graduation of 11 trainees from a 12- months Human Capital Development (HCD) program at Geoscape’s Lagos facility in partnership with Chevron Nigeria Limited and Geoscape Nigeria Limited.
The initiative, named “Chevron Nigeria Limited Purchase of Unit 20 Autothermal Reformer Cooled Tip Swirler Burner Assembly (Tag: 120-xx102-05),” selected 11 candidates from 33 applicants via the NOGIC JQS portal.
The year-long training included classroom instruction, hands-on technical experience, and international sessions in the United Kingdom, equipping participants to lead in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Barr. Esueme Dan-Kikile, NCDMB’s General Manager of Human Capacity Development, representing Executive Secretary Felix Omatsola Ogbe, called the program a milestone in the Board’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap. “This is nation-building in action. These graduates are catalysts for change, ready to set new benchmarks for excellence,” he said, praising Chevron and Geoscape for their contributions.
Dan-Kikile urged the graduates to seize the opportunity. “You carry the torch of excellence. Wield your skills with purpose and integrity,” he added.
Chevron’s HCD Adviser, Victor Inyere, representing General Manager Edwina Kentebe-Oluwakayode, described the initiative as a social investment. “Investing in people sustains development. We’re committed to NCDMB’s vision of empowering young Nigerians,” he said.
Modupe Jegede, CEO of Geoscape Nigeria Limited, credited NCDMB’s framework for her company’s growth, noting its ISO certification and plans for a new training school.
“We’re building a sustainable legacy, focused on quality and excellence,” she said, inviting stakeholders to the school’s upcoming commissioning.
Graduate Elizabeth Oyeyemi, the only female trainee, said, “This program showed me there are no limits for women in technical fields.” Ayandipo Feyintoluwa called the training “innovative,” urging its continuation.
The event highlighted a shared goal of enhancing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector through human capital investment, ensuring competitiveness and inclusivity.
