The Chief Magistrates’ Court in Life Camp, Abuja on Thursday, adjourned hearing in a case of alleged abduction of a one day baby filled against three people until July 8.

The police charged Evelyn Enahoro, Solomon Maris ,and Okuku Solomon with conspiracy and abduction.

Chief Magistrate Musa Jobbo, adjourned the case following an application for adjournment filed by the Prosecution Counsel, Donatus Abba.
Abba had prayed the court to adjourn the case to enable him serve the defence counsel proof of evidence on the matter.
However the defendants’ Counsel, C.C Owowo did not objected to the persecutor’s application for adjournment.
Abba had informed the Court that Enahoro the first defendant and Solomon the third defendant were in Court, While Maris the second defendant was absent for no reason.
According to the First information report (FIR) the defendants were arraigned on March 30 for allegedly abducting a day old baby.
Abba had told the court that the complainant , Ms Patience Joshua reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station on March 16.He said that the complainant alleged that on Feb. 5 she gave birth to a baby boy at Piwoyi healthcare centre Airport Road Abuja.He said that the defendants dishonestly conspired and stole the complainant’s baby.
During police investigation and interrogation, the police said, the defendants made a confessional statement which led to the recovering of the baby in Lagos State.

Abba said that the offence contravened the provision of section 97 and 273 of the penal code.
