Kebbi State Hisbah Board has arrested a married woman and five others during a raid on a hotel in Birnin Kebbi over alleged immoral conduct.
The operation took place on May 14 behind the Presidential Lodge, following a tip-off from members of the public, said Sirajo Kamba, Director of Shariah at the board.
Officers detained three men and three women at the scene. Kamba confirmed the arrests on Friday and said investigations are ongoing.
“Findings revealed that one of the women arrested was married,” he told journalists.

Kamba said the raid was part of efforts to uphold moral standards in the state. He urged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s movements and online activities to prevent behavior that undermines community values.
The Hisbah Board operates under Kebbi’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and enforces Shariah-based regulations in the state.
