A group of APC elders in Oluyole Federal Constituency has petitioned the party’s national leadership to block Reps member Tolulope Akande-Sadipe and former lawmaker Olusunbo Olugbemi from contesting the upcoming primary election.

The Concerned Elders Forum alleges both aspirants hold dual party membership, which they say violates the APC constitution and the Electoral Act.

In the May 11 petition signed by Hon. James Adeyemo, Hon. Razak Tijani, Pastor Olujide Akinlabi, and Comrade Adesola Sulaiman, the elders warned the issue threatens party unity and credibility ahead of 2027.

For Sadipe, the incumbent, they claim she still maintains ties to the Accord Party. The group cited the recent defection of several loyalists from her political structure to Accord, allegedly led by her movement’s DG, Hon. Samuel Idowu.

On Olugbemi, the elders recalled he left APC after the 2019 primary and contested the House of Reps seat under ADC. They argue he hasn’t fully reintegrated into APC and continues to maintain links with ADC.

The forum says allowing aspirants with alleged ties to other parties to run under APC could trigger legal disputes and hurt the party’s chances in the general election.

They’re asking the APC national leadership to investigate, enforce discipline, and ensure only loyal members contest the primary.

“The leadership of the APC must send a clear message that the party remains disciplined and guided by its constitution,” the petition stated.

Oluyole APC is set to hold its primary for the 2027 House of Representatives race in the coming weeks.
