The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has addressed a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, appealing to him to intervene and prevent Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, from disregarding the court orders in respect of the Air Nigeria project.

The group alleged that Sirika planned to circumvent the order on Friday, May 26, 2023, which marked the final working day of this administration.

The AON said it suspected that this move might serve to conceal the Minister’s violation of Nigerian laws and other related infractions.

Represented by their lawyer, Nureini Jimoh, SAN, the AON alleged that the Minister intended to hastily introduce two aircraft and create the illusion that Nigeria Air had commenced operations.

They implored President Muhammadu Buhari to halt the Minister’s actions, ensure adherence to the terms of the court order, and prevent unnecessary controversies that might arise after the expiration of his administration.
