The management of the University of Benin has debunked media reports that it had called off strike.

The management issued the rebuttal in a terse statement by the Public Relations Officer, Dr Benedicta Ehanire.

It said it had asked its students to resume on the date indicated in the rumour doing the rounds.

The management stated that although it was desirous of a return to normalcy, yet it was not in a position to arbitrarily direct the students to resume.
