Osun State University, UNIOSUN has concluded arrangements to hold the 3rd edition in the series of annual memorial lectures in honour of Nigeria’s first millionaire, late Chief Candido Joao Da Rocha.
According to the information gathered by our correspondent from the University Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, the lecture is expected on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022, at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium, at 10:00 am West African Time.
It will be recalled that late Mrs. Abimbola Aina Omololu-Mulele, a respected educationist, lawyer, and philanthropist, who was also a granddaughter to the Late Chief Candido Da Rocha, donated the sum of fifty-eight million Naira (N58,000,000) to the advancement of accountancy in Osun State University, as ‘Candido Da Rocha Trust Fund’ in loving memory of her grandfather.
The theme of this year’s annual memorial lecture is titled: “Treasury Single Account And Economic Development In Africa: The Ethical Accounting Question”, while the Guest Lecturer is a Professor of Accounting from the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Management Sciences, Rivers State University, Port-Harcourt, Professor Lawyer Chukwuma Obara.
The Chairman of the event is the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D., while the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayo Clement Adebooye is the Chief Host of the event.
