Turaki’s faction postpones PDP NWC meeting after chaos at secretariat

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has announced the postponement of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting following chaos at the national secretariat in the Wuse area of Abuja.

Turaki said the meeting was postponed over the crisis at the party’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

The PDP chairman, who was joined by the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, said the meeting would now hold on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

“Due to some incidents caused by those who are the enemies of progress, the enemies of democracy, we have decided to postpone this meeting till tomorrow,” he stated.

Turaki also commended the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police for providing security that enabled the leadership access the secretariat.

He disclosed that he had briefed the police commissioner about the planned NWC meeting and informed him of the announcement of the NEC and BoT meetings by persons no longer recognised as PDP members.

Turaki thanked party stakeholders for their support, saying the PDP remains committed to unity and stability.
