●Minister backs AMG, GMT, Elders Movement as Renewed Hope mobilization kicks off early*
Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has intensified political mobilization in Ondo State, positioning himself as a key driver of APC’s early groundwork for the 2027 general elections.
Popularly known as BTO, the minister has emerged as the face of grassroots engagement and party restructuring in the state since his 2023 appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
—Pro-Tinubu groups activated across 18 LGAs—
Tunji-Ojo is reportedly backing several pro-Tinubu support groups that have stepped up activities statewide. They include Asiwaju Mandate Group, AMG, Grassroots Movement for Tinubu, GMT, and Ondo Elders Movement for Tinubu.
The groups are running voter registration drives, ward-level consultations, town hall meetings, youth engagement programs and community outreach aimed at strengthening APC’s structure ahead of the next election cycle.
Political observers say the renewed activities reflect a deliberate push to consolidate support for the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda in Ondo before official campaigns begin.
—Digital registration + welfare push—
Supporters credit Tunji-Ojo with stabilising APC structures through stakeholder engagement, digital membership registration initiatives, and regular consultations with party elders and youths.
His political network is also expanding via empowerment programmes and welfare interventions targeting vulnerable residents. Recent medical outreach programs have provided healthcare support to women, low-income families and other vulnerable groups across communities.
Analysts note the combination of political engagement, empowerment and community-based programmes is creating renewed momentum for the ruling party in Ondo.
With 2027 still six or seven months away, Tunji-Ojo’s early mobilisation signals the intensity expected from APC’s Southwest structure as parties begin positioning for the next presidential cycle.
