Tragedy as Sardauna’s grandson, Danbaba slumps, dies in Kaduna

It was gloom in Sokoto on Saturday as the Magajin Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Hassan Danbaba, slumped and died in Kaduna.

Danbaba, a grandson of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, died at the age of 51, according to a family source.

The source said that Danbaba’s remains wouldl be flown to Sokoto State for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

For many residents in Sokoto, the news about the dead of Magajin Garin Sokoto, Hassan Danbaba was very devastating considering his philanthropic prowess over the years.

Danbaba, who buried his 75 years old mother, Aishatu, the second daughter of the late Premier in April, 2021 left behind six children from three wives.

He was a successful business magnate.

He was Chairman of Stonehedge Hotels, Abuja and Board chairman, Sokoto State Rima Basin Development Authority.
