The grandson of Sir Ahmadu Sardauna, Premier of Northern Nigeria, Hassan Danbaba is dead.
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigerian Supreme Coucil for Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111, Governor Nasir El-rufai, (Kaduna) Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto) and Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) were among dignitaries that attended the burial of Sardauna’s grandson and Magajin Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Hassan Danbaba, on Saturday in Sokoto.
The 51-year old Danbaba had reportedly slumped and died in Kaduna on Saturday according to a family source.
Leading the funeral prayers, the Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Musque, Muhammad Bello Akwara, said death was inevitable for all mortals.
He appealed to all and sundry to make their paths right with Allah while alive.
The remains of Alhaji Hassan Dambaba was laid to rest according to Islamic rites at Binaci, a stone’s throw from Sultan’s palace at the family cemetery of Magajin Gari’s.
Reacting to the death in a statement, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, expressed grief over the sad incident.
Senator Wamakko, said the late Danbaba was not only a distinguished gentleman but also a respected traditional ruler that had contributed immensely to the development of Sokoto Caliphate and the nation in general.
He affirmed that Sokoto Caliphate had indeed lost a father and a respected leader, who lived a life of service to the Caliphate, Nigeria and humanity.
The lawmaker prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
