Tragedy struck on Friday as what was supposed to be a happy day turned sour for the family of a prospective groom, Adebowale Toromade, who was killed on the day of his introduction in Edunabon, Ife North local government area of Osun State.
Debowale and his family members were said to be in Ede town earlier on Friday for an engagement with his pregnant wife.
Immediately after the introduction ceremony, which was not too long, Debo as popularly known attended the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected leaders of Okada riders association in Edunabon town, being an Okada rider himself.
Immediately after the swearing in ceremony, he joined others to escort their leaders who came from Ile-Ife to Moro junction.
It was at the Moro junction that they heard gunshot from unidentified location.
Our Correspondent informed that Adebowale and one other person were shot.
Both were rushed to a nearby hospital where Adebowale was confirmed dead on arrival, while the second person was still receiving medical treatment.
It was also learnt that the deceased family has opted not to pursue case as the remains have been buried in the morning of Saturday.
The Osun Police Command Public Relations Officer, PRO, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident, stating that investigation had already commenced.
