Tinubu appoints Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu as UBTH CMD

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

The letter of appointment was handed over to her by the Minister of Health, Professor Ali Pate

Untol her appointment, Idia Ize-Iyamu, was a professor of orthodontics, University of Benin (UNIBEN), and Consultant Orthodontist University of Benin Teaching hospital (UBTH).

She was the postgraduate coordinator, Department of Preventive Dentistry.

A Commonwealth Fellow (Craniofacial Orthodontics), She attended Corona Nursery School, Apapa from 1971-1973, Corona Primary School, Apapa Lagos, from 1974-1978, Holy child College, Obalende Lagos, 1979-1985, Queens College, Yaba Lagos, 1985-1986, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, 1986- 1992, West African College of surgeons 1997- 2004.

She is also a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.

She also attended Oxford University, United Kingdom, on a Commonwealth Medical Fellowship in 2016.

She worked with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, 1992-1993. She did her National Youth Service Corp at the Military Hospital Bonny Camp Lagos from 1993-1994, Smile Well Dental Clinic from 1994-1995, University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) 1997- date.

She was a lecturer at the University of Benin since 2003 till date. She became an Associate Professor – of Orthodontics in 2014.

She was the Head of Department, Department of Preventive Dentistry UBTH, 2011 till date and Head of Department, Department of Preventive Dentistry Uniben, 2011 until her appointment as CMD.

She is a pastor at The Redeemed Christian Church of God ( RCCG) Trinity Sanctuary, Region 13, Headquarters Parish eith responsibility over the Teenage Church.
