Yesterday, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Saad Abubakar, caused a stir and further revved the rumour mill when he openly showed his trust in Tinubu.
The occasion was the seventh Convocation ceremony of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti where the Sultan and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader of the APC, were conferred with honorary doctorate degrees.
When it was time for the honourees to give the vote of thanks, the Sultan surprised many when he asked the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu “to speak for me and other Emirs from the North here present because whatever he says is from us.”
Asiwaju Tinubu was awarded the Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa). Dignitaries at the event included Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of the Interior, as well as the governors of Lagos, Osun, Ogun and Sokoto States.
