● Penpushing founder Kayode-Adedeji begins week-long burial rites June 8 for foster mother who shaped his life
Dame Oreoluwa Kayode-Adedeji, MFR, foster mother of Penpushing Media founder Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in her hometown of Ilesa, Osun State.
Mama Kayode-Adedeji passed peacefully on January 5, 2026, at age 84. The journalist described her as the woman “who contributed to my positive developmental growth and to whom I will remain grateful even in death”.

The family announced a 6-day programme of events honouring her life of service and compassion:
Mon June 8, 12 noon – Tribute by Omotayo Maternity management, Hall near Omotayo Maternity, Oke Ado, Ibadan
Wed June 10, 9-11am– Lying-in-state at Omotayo Maternity reception, followed by *4-6pm* Service of Songs at her Oni & Sons, Ibadan residence
Thu June 11, 9-11am – Commendation service, Oke Ado Methodist Church, Ibadan. Town hall procession + lying-in-state at Ilare-Ijesa family home later that day
Fri June 12, 4-6pm – Christian Wake, Imo, Ilesa
Sat June 13, 9am-12noon – Burial service, Methodist Church Otapete, Ilesa. 1pm Reception at Zenabab Event Centre, Zenabab Half Moon Resort, Ilesa-Jesa Road

For Kayode-Adedeji, the burial is more than ceremony. It’s a final thank you to the woman he credits for his values, discipline and drive in journalism. Friends, colleagues and media practitioners across Nigeria are expected in Ilesa to pay respects.
