As part of the effort to address the current security challenges in the state, Katsina State government has established a new law banning transportation of cattle trucks to other states in Nigeria.
The new law signed by the State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, titled: “Security Challenge Containment Order”, is expected to take immediate effect.
The law also banned carrying three persons on rnotorcycles in Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Musawa, Matazu, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Danja and Kafur Local Government Areas.
The government also placed a ban on operation of motorcyclists and commercial vehicles from 10pm to 6am in the state capital.
It re-enforced the total ban of sale of petrol in jerricans and also placed a ban on selected filling station, not to sell petrol of more than N5,000 to motorists.
Some roads were closed to motorists till further notice and the government advised that road users take alternative routes in the new law.
