A former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Friday picked up the Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Form of the opposition African Democratic Congress.

Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, who chaired the ADC Policy and Manifesto Committee, led a high-powered delegation, including Senator Abatemi-Usman, to pick up the form on Amaechi’s behalf at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Amaechi, a former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and two-term Governor of Rivers State, joins the race after receiving endorsements from various quarters, including strong support from South-South ADC leaders.

He is the second aspirant to obtain the presidential form, which costs N90 million.

He follows Alhaji Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who also picked up the nomination form to demonstrate his commitment to contesting the 2027 presidential election on the ADC platform.

Amaechi has consistently emphasised the need for competence, youth inclusion, power rotation to the South, and a focus on security, the economy, and infrastructure as priorities for Nigeria’s next leadership.
