PDP Governors’ performance will return party to Aso Rock in 2023, says Segun Oni

A former governor of Ekiti state, Chief Segun Oni, said that the performance of Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governors would return the party to presidential power in 2023.

Oni, the leading PDP aspirant in the Ekiti governorship election in 2022, made the declaration in a statement on Saturday, (May 29).

The statement was in commemoration of the May 29 anniversary.

He specifically felicitated members of the PDP.

Chief Oni expressed confidence that the performance of governors on the PDP platform has been so impressive that it would sway and swing Nigeria electorate votes to the party in the 2023 Presidential poll.

Read part of the statement: “On this special handover anniversary, I wish to celebrate our brothers, friends, leaders, excellences, the governors on the platform of our great party, who have demonstrated outstanding qualities in good governance and dared to be different.

Congratulations to our governors celebrating their 2nd and 6th anniversary in office.

“Amid growing frustrations in the country, triggered by the incompetence of the centre, these PDP governors have shown to be the silver lining in the dark cloud of hopelessness that grips our nation.

“While the PDP represents the path to hope in 2023, the performances of the party’s governors will further endear it to Nigerians for a return to the Presidential villa to rescue the nation.

“All over Nigeria, the people’s frustrations are very palpable and have continued to compel them of the inevitability of bringing back the PDP to salvage the country and return us to the path of peace and prosperity.

“The country’s political environment reflects a people seeking an alternative to the APC, and it is only the PDP that can provide this alternative.

“I will like to urge PDP members not to despair or lose hope about the recent developments in the party; there may be individual logic or fear for people who are crossing.”

Chief Oni also expressed optimism that the PDP would resolve internal issues on.rhe basis of principles and constitutionality.

According to him, the Saraki-led reconciliation committee could put an end to the misunderstanding and disagreements in the party.
