Parents of the students in the C&S Grammar School, Ipetumodu in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State have berated the current condition of the school, saying the condition of learning in the school is unacceptable and degrading to teachers, students and their parents.
According to the parents, while conducting newsmen round the school premises on Saturday, they appealed to Osun state government to urgently address the issue of dilapidated condition of the nine buildings out of the ten buildings in the school premises as well as lack of science teachers.
The parents, who lamented the bad condition of the school that was established in the ancient community in 1978, urged the incumbent administration in the state to urgently come to the aid of the school by providing a conducive learning environment for the students.

Mr Owolabi Benjamin, who briefed journalists on behalf of other parents, said Osun state government has marginalised the C&S Grammar School in Ipetumodu with dilapidated structures.
The parents who said, the C&S Grammar School still largely dilapidated and is unsuitable for conducive learning, noted that, “Students do well when they study in a conducive environment. It is a conducive environment that makes a teacher to perform at their optimum.
“C&S Grammar School in Ipetumodu is one of the best and recognized school in Osun State, but it’s a pity, the school today is in bad, dilapidated and poor condition and presently having no adequate teachers and teachers are running away from being posting there.
“Similarly, the school known for producing great men and women of valour and importance, who have travelled far and wide across the world.
“But what we are seen currently having gone round the school premises is appalling and beyond imagination, the deplored facility in the school is not far from the prison. In fact, prison is even better. With this poor learning environment, I wonder how a child studying here will have a desired knowledge for a brighter future.
“Students were also reported to be bringing their own furniture from home as there’s no enough seats while teachers and students also have to resort to open defecation as the school has no standard toilet facility,” the parents said.
The parents however called on Governor Gboyega Oyetola to come to the aid of the entire students and teachers of the school by rehabilitating the buildings and urgently providing science teachers for the students.
