Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr Sam Ogbuku, on Thursday, flagged off a two-day conference on food security in the region, amid mischievious reports of his purported arrest for alleged connection with a failed coup plot.

Tagged: “2-day Critical Stakeholders Agenda Setting on Unlocking Agricultural Potential of the Niger Delta”, the event, which is holding at J Signature Hotel, Port Harcourt, is being attended by dignitaries from across the region.

In his opening address, Ogbuku challenged the participants to come up with a workable blueprint that would unlock the region’s agricultural potential.

He said the call was predicated on the fact that a boisterous agricultural sector would bring in foreign exchange to the states in the region as booming sector would also mean export of produce.

The stakeholders’ conference ends Friday, October 31. It’s being attended by representatives from the nine states that make up the NDDC.
