The Nigeria Democratic Congress has appointed journalist, lawyer and pro-democracy advocate Osa Director as its National Publicity Secretary.
The party also named Peter Agbo Ekele and Lawal Sabo Ibrahim as Deputy National Publicity Secretaries.
The NDC said the appointments are part of efforts to build a communication team grounded in professionalism, integrity and democratic values.
Director brings decades of experience in journalism, law and media management. He was a journalist with TELL Magazine during the pro-democracy struggle and was detained under the Sani Abacha regime.
He co-founded and served as Editor-in-Chief of INSIDER WEEKLY Magazine and runs the law firm Osa Director & Co. He holds degrees in Biochemistry, Management, Law, Media and Communications, and Corporate Governance, and is a member of the NBA, ABA and NUJ.
Ekele, a graduate of English from Ahmadu Bello University, has worked as a reporter, news editor and editor at New Nigerian National Accord and LEADERSHIP. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of The Cabal Newspaper and a member of the NUJ and NGE.

Ibrahim holds degrees in English Education and English Language from the University of Jos and Bayero University, Kano. He has lectured at Kano State Polytechnic, edited at Peoples Daily and LEADERSHIP and served as Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Triumph Publishing Company from 2017 to 2023. He belongs to the IPI, NIPR and NGE.
The NDC said the trio’s combined media and legal experience will strengthen the party’s public engagement ahead of future elections.
