Man remanded over alleged theft of aluminum windows worth N230,000

An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Tuesday remanded one Abubakar Abdullahi, after he pleaded guilty to stealing aluminum windows worth N230,000.

Abdullahi, whose address was not provided, had pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, remanded him in a correctional centre and adjourned the case until July 30 for review of facts and sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 24 at about 9.30 p.m. at Opaleye Street, Sona Brewery, Ijako, Ota.

Adaraloye said that the defendant was caught by the vigilante group in the process of stealing the aluminum windows worth N230,000.

He said that the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
