Two men – Segun Shonekan and Rasak Lasisi – on Monday appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing ten pieces of iron rolling wheel worth N500, 000 belonging to their employer.
The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy, which they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye told the court that the defendants committed the offences in November 2024 at Veevee Paper Product on Ijoko road, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendants stole ten pieces of iron rolling wheel valued at N500, 000 belonging to their employer, Owoso Lawrence.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 390 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo granted each of the defendants N100, 000 bail with one surety each in like sum.
Fadairo said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned until June 9, for further hearing.
