The police on Thursday, dragged a graphics designer, Yusuf Oluwaseyi before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing cameras and accessories valued at N10.2 million.

Oluwaseyi who resides at the Ijegun area of Lagos, is standing trial on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendant conspired with others now at large, to commit the offences on Jan. 25 at No. 10, Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos.

He alleged that Oluwaseyi stole a studio camera worth N1.8 million as well as a lens worth N950,000, belonging to one Mrs Ruth Okpebru

The prosecution alleged that the defendant also stole a Nikon D750 camera valued N1.7 million, a lens valued at N1.45 million and an adaptor valued at N250,000 belonging to Victoria Island Local Council Development Area.

In addition, he alleged that the defendant stole a Nikon Z7 camera valued four million naira, belonging to one Joe Peter.

The offences contravene the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, S.K., Matepo granted the defendant bail in the sum of two million naira with two sureties in like sum.

The court adjourned the case until March 23, for hearing.
