Flamingos crush Guinea 5-0 in U-17 WWCQ first leg

Nigeria’s Flamingos put one foot in the next round of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after hammering Guinea 5-0 in Abidjan on Saturday.

Captain Harmony Chidi led the charge with a hat-trick, while Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Mary Dunstan added one each.

Coach Akeem Busari’s side started fast, with Chidi opening the scoring in the 1st minute and doubling it in the 13th. Adegbuyi made it 3-0 in the 37th minute, and Chidi completed her hat-trick five minutes before halftime to send Nigeria into the break 4-0 up.

The Flamingos kept control after the break, with Dunstan netting the fifth in the 56th minute.

The return leg is set for next Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
