Many have been feared dead as a loud explosion has just occurred in the Iju area of Lagos.
The explosion reportedly occured about 3:30 pm on Thursday (September 24, 2020).
A witness said the explosion was from a gas plant located around Iju Hills, close to Grailland.
“We just heard a loud sound around 03.30 pm and we suddenly began to see smoke.
“The explosion is massive and we are not sure of the casualties but many people are injured,” Ikechukwu said.
As of the time of filing in this report, according to aledeh.com, residents of Iju and surrounding communities were asking for an immediate intervention by the fire service and other emergency services.
