The governorship candidate of the APC in the September 19, 2020 election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said on Saturday that the governor Godwin Obaseki’s poor performance record accounted for his resort to Delta state government to grade some roads in Edo.
He was addressing supporters at Ekpon ward in Igueben LGA in continuation of the APC ward rallies, which held in Ewohinmi, Illushi and Emu wards, and featured courtesy visits to traditional rulers and elders in the localities.
He said notwithstanding the support from the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, for the outgoing governor of Edo state, the fact remained that the election on September 19,2020 was about Edo state, for Edo people and not Delta state.
He commended former Governor Adams Oshiomhole for his development strides and legacy projects, which had endeared him to the people of the state, adding that he was running for governor of Edo state to continue from where Oshiomhole stopped and even to surpass him.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu at the rallies also highlighted the contents of his manifesto, the SIMPLE Agenda as “it relates to roads reconstruction, employment of teachers and schools rehabilitation, water supply, and provision of health centres, rebuilding of markets, creation of job opportunities and the empowerment of women.”
To actualise all these, he appealed to the people to vote APC on the Election Day so that he would have the necessary mandate to move the State forward by developing all the sectors crucial to the growth of its economy for a better life.
