A large number of students, whose exact figure, has yet to be ascertained, have been abducted by bandits at Government Science College (GSC) kagara, in Niger State.
The bandits in military uniforms, according to PRNigeria, stormed the school premises with close to 1000 students on Tuesday night, overpowered the security guard, before whisking away the students.
However, some students escaped after the raid.
A headcount was being conducted at the school in the wee hours of Wednesday to ascertain the actual number of missing students.
But PRNigeria said that security agencies were able to detect the coordinate and nature of the area, and have started tracing the bandits’ movement while NAF aircraft have been seen hovering in the air to track the location of the students.

Before the PRMigeria report, Senator Shehu Sani has broken the news in a tweet on his verified twitter handle.
He said: “I just spoke to the principal” of the school, “my alma mata.”

“The Confidence and audacity of the bandits reflects the tumors the Government must urgently treat in order to save the nation,” was a reaction by a twitter follower.

The Chief of Staff to the Niger State Governor who was on his way from Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area (LGA) on Sunday narrowly missed bbeing idnapped by bandits.
A wedding party of 18 in a bus that arrived the ambush point at Gundu village a few minutes before was unlucky as they were kidnapped and moved into the nearby forest.
Last year, bandits stormed Kagara, and for hours, held residents of the LGA headquarters in bondage, shooting and looting.
In the early hours of Wednesday, bandits stormed the Government Science College, moving away, against their will, students, teachers, and family members according to sundry media reports.
One student was reportedly shot dead as the photo above shows.
