● Dennis Idahosa never denied the statements made about eight years ago

One of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Dr Blessing Agbomhere has rebutted the claim of defamatory publication leveled against him by another aspirant, Hon Dennis Idahosa.

Agbomhere had in a widely publicized press statement described Idahosa as a criminal, who was being foisted on the party by a leader as a consensus governorship candidate.

But Idahosa had immediately, through his lawyers, Wole Olanipekun (SAN), sent a demand notice to Agbomhere seeking a retraction of the offensive and libelous publication.

In a reply by Agbomhere, through his lawyers, Luqman Muhammad & Co, he denied Idahosa’s claim, saying that the statements he made, which formed the basis of media reports, were a mere reproduction, restatement, adoption and rehash of the statement credited to Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole and his government in 2015, “which was widely published and circulated in the print and online media to which your client had acquiesced undeniably about 8 (eight0 years ago without a rebuttal and/or legal challenge to clear his name of the weighty allegations against him which touched on his credit, reputation and integrity.”

Published below is the letter by Agbomhere’s lawyers, dated 25th January, 2024 to Idahosa’s lawyers:
