CP Salami urges colleagues to embrace professionalism

Ganiyu Salami, Commissioner of Polic, General Investigations, Force CID, Abuja, has harped on the need for officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force to be professional in carrying out their duties to ensure a safe and secured nation.

The newly newly promoted CP stated this during a farewell party organised in his honour at the Nigeria Police, Zone Xl command headquarters, Osogbo, Osun State.

CP Salami said there was the need for men and women of police and other security officers to display professionalism in the discharge of their duties without regard to politics, ethnicity or creed.

Salami further said that he would continue to remember the spirit of oneness and camaraderie with which they work together at the Nigeria Police, Zone Xl, said police will continue to redouble their efforts towards addressing the problem of insecurity and all forms of criminality across the country.

At the event held in Osogbo, CP Ganiyu Salami was celebrated as he was promoted from the rank of Deputy commissioner of police, Zonal Xl to the post of Commissioner of Police.

He was promoted to head Department of General Investigations, first headquarters, Abuja, before his retirement this month.

CP Ganiyu who got enlisted on the 3rd of March 1990, was promoted in 2017 as Deputy Commissioner of Police and later transferred to Osogbo in 2019 as DC in charge of Zonal CID ZONE 11.

He served three years at the Nigeria police, zone XI command before he was promoted as commissioner of police.

In his farewell speech, Salami appreciated colleagues for the development of the command and country at large.

Those who deliver good will messages described CP Ganiyu as a man of integrity who extended fatherly roles, protect and guide both junior and senior officers.

While showering encomium on CP Ganiyu, the PPRO Zone 11 Command, Osogbo, SP Ayeni Benjamin, described the CP as good leader who always fought for the progress of others, “our boss is a gentle man, God fearing, generous and caring, I wish him well.”

Families, friend and other well wishers graced the occasion.

Medal and award of recognition for his contribution towards sporting activities was presented by Zone Xl sport department.
