The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday night, announced 938 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 143,516 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-236, FCT-123, Plateau-92, Benue-63, Katsina-53, Oyo-50, Osun-45, Kaduna-43, Edo-33, Ogun-31, Ebonyi-31, Akwa Ibom-30, Kano-26, Gombe-18, Bauchi-16, Delta-12, Imo-11, Cross River-10, Rivers-10 and Niger-5.
The data from the agency disclosed that eight deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,702 on Wednesday to 1,710 on Thursday.
The agency said 1,065 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 118,012 while 23,794 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that discharges on Thursday included 536 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
