COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 877 new cases, 16 deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday night, announced 877 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 150,246 cases.

The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-273, Kaduna-87, Rivers-58, Akwa Ibom-47, Ebonyi-47, Edo-46, Ogun-46, Abia-34, Imo-34, Kano-34, Oyo-26, Osun-22, Gombe-20, Ekiti-19, Cross River-15, FCT-15, Plateau-11, Enugu-9, Kebbi-8, Borno-7, Niger-6, Bayelsa-5, Nasarawa-4, Kwara-2, Katsina-1 and Sokoto-1.

The data from the agency disclosed that 16 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,787 on Wednesday to 1,803 on Thursday.

The agency said 695 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 126,417 while 22,026 cases were still active in the country.

The agency explained that the discharges on Thursday included 275 community recoveries in Lagos State and 91 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
