COVID-19: NCDC reports 685 new cases, eight deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday night, announced 685 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-355, Kaduna-58, Nasarawa-46, Kano-40, Akwa- Ibom-33, Katsina-26, Ogun-25, Osun-21, Rivers-16, Edo-15, Oyo-13, Ondo-12, Borno-11, Ekiti-9, Kebbi-3 and Plateau-2.
The data from the agency disclosed that eight deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,578 on Saturday to 1,586 on Sunday.
The agency said 1,277 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 104,989 while 24,667 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that the discharges Sunday included 901 community recoveries in Lagos State and 123 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
