The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday night, announced 542 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 152,616 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-99, Kwara-91, Ebonyi-48, Ogun-44, Kaduna-42, Oyo-33, Ondo-25, FCT-24, Kebbi-23, Osun-20, Ekiti-17, Nasarawa-12, Imo-11, Delta-10, Gombe-9, Kano-8, Katsina-7, Rivers-7, Edo-5, Plateau-4 and Bauchi-3.
The data from the agency disclosed that 23 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,839 on Sunday to 1,862 on Monday.
The agency said 681 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 129,300 while 21,454 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that the discharges on Monday included 193 community recoveries in Lagos State and 113 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
It added that the fatality figure included backlog of deaths recorded in Lagos State.
