The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday night, announced 1,340 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 136,030 cases.
The health agency disclosed that FCT had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-320, Lagos-275, Rivers-117, Oyo-100, Akwa Ibom-57, Ogun-51, Ebonyi-48, Benue-44, Adamawa-42, Imo-38, Kwara-35, Gombe-32, Kaduna-31, Edo-29, Osun-29, Kano-24, Ekiti-15, Katsina-14, Delta-13, Nasarawa-13, Jigawa-10 and Sokoto-3.
The data from the agency disclosed that 14 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,618 on Wednesday to 1,632 on Thursday.
The agency said 1,792 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 110,449 while 23,949 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that discharges on Thursday include 824 community recoveries in Lagos State, 448 in the FCT and 142 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
