Former presidential candidate, Olapade Agoro, is dead


A former presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC), Dr Olapade Agoro, is dead, aged 77.

Agoro was born on October 9, 1943 at Ajibabi Village of Ibadan, Oyo State.

His daughter, Adeola Agoro, confirmed her father’s transition on her Facebook page on Sunday, November 1, 2020.

The late Agoro was the founder and presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC).

Agoro was also a religious leader being a prominent cleric of one of the unorthodox churches in Nigeria.

According to the daughter in her Facebook post,, “Olapade Agoro, we are calling you but you’re not answering again. Ha! We said we loved you but you refused to listen.

“You have left us like that. It’s not okay o. It’s just not okay. But as you have gone to be with your mother Dorcas Oyejola Asabi, I won’t talk yet.

“But this is not fair on me. Baba Deola, you should have looked back a little now…. Ha death you’re wicked!”

It would be recalled that the late Agoro ccontested Nigeria’s the presidential election twice- in 2003 and 2007.
