The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai bail set at ₦100 million with one surety in like sum.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik delivered the ruling on Monday and outlined several conditions:

-Bail conditions’

1. Surety requirements: The surety must reside in Maitama or Asokoro, Abuja, and be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17. They must deposit the original Certificate of Occupancy for a landed property and provide three months’ salary evidence authenticated by their bank manager.
2. Documentation: The surety must submit an affidavit of means, sign a bail bond, and provide a recent passport photograph. A letter from their department and tax clearance for the last six months are also required.
3. el-Rufai’s obligations: He must surrender all international passports to the court. He is also to report to DSS headquarters on the last Friday of every month at 10 a.m. to sign the attendance register.
4. Other requirements: Submit a letter of attestation from the Chairman of the Kaduna Traditional Council.

Justice Abdulmalik warned that any breach would lead to automatic revocation of bail.

The bail comes as el-Rufai faces charges before the court.
