The APC has cleared Oden Ewa and seven other aspirants to contest today’s Senatorial primary for Cross River Central.
The list was released by the party’s National Organising Secretary after screening in the state.
Ewa, former Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, will face off against incumbent Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, who’s seeking a third term.
Party insiders say the race is shaping up as a tight contest between the two, but Ewa is seen as the candidate pushing for a “fresh start.” He’s popular with party leaders and has strong support on the ground for his track record in the district. Youth groups have also lined up behind him, backing his push for new representation.
Also cleared for the primaries:
Cross River South: Asuquo Ekpenyoung
Cross River North: Adans Cecilia Omoniya, Senator Jarigbe Agom, Dr. Johna Onyi Agba, Mary Ogoba Ekpere Eta
Voting is underway across the state today as APC picks its candidates ahead of 2027.
