Catholic Diocese of Ondo has confirmed the Sunday attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.
In a statement by Diocese Director, Social Communications, Rev. Fr. Augustine Ikwu, the Catholic said all the Priests and Bishop in the parish were safe and none was kidnapped as the social media had it.
The Church further stated that it was so sad to say that while the Holy Mass was going on, gunmen attacked St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, leaving many dead and many others injured and the Church violated.
The Church said the identities of the perpetrators remained unknown while the situation had left the community devastated.
