Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus has again been barred from presiding at the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the party holding today (Saturday, August 28, 2021) in Abuja.
This was consequent upon an interim order of a Cross River high Court obtained Friday evening.
The court has effectively stopped Secondus from participating in the National Executive Committee (NEC).
The new order on Friday also barred PDP from allowing Secondus to function as national chairman or preside over the NEC meetings of the party.
The interim order in the suit No HC/240/2021, specifically restrained Secondus from assuming the office of National Chairman of the 2nd Defendant, (Peoples Democratic Party, PDP).
The NEC meeting is set to ratify the national convention of the party holding between October 29 and 30, 2021.
Justice Edem Kufre on Friday acted on an application brought by a member of the party, Enang Wani, to stop Secondus from presiding or participating in the PDP NEC meeting on Saturday, because he has allegedly been sacked as a member of the party by his ward in Andoni local government area of Rivers State.
