The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has achieved a historic milestone with the certification of a Pakistan-based professional in its National Procurement Certification Programme (NPCP).

This marks the first time a diaspora-based participant has joined the programme, showcasing its global appeal.

The candidate, who reached out to the NPCP National Coordinator, Mr. Babatunde Oladele, demonstrated a high level of proficiency in Nigeria’s procurement frameworks, passing the examination remotely.

The BPP’s digital systems enabled seamless participation, proving the programme’s transparency and accessibility.

This achievement aligns with the BPP’s vision to professionalise procurement and eliminate “quackery” in the system.

The NPCP is expanding its talent pool, enhancing credibility, and showcasing Nigeria’s digital reform.

“The successful passage by the candidate from Pakistan should serve as a wake-up call to local professionals to prioritise their certification,” Mr. Oladele said.

As Nigeria leads the “Black World” in procurement reform, the NPCP sets a global benchmark for structured, transparent, and digitally-accessible systems.
