The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s intervention programmes are producing tangible economic results for Nigerians through targeted support for entrepreneurship, small businesses and youth empowerment.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Professor Yilwatda described the Presidential Intervention Funds as another fulfilment of the administration’s campaign promises to stimulate enterprise, create jobs and expand economic inclusion across the country.

He said access to affordable financing has for decades been one of the biggest barriers facing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, despite their central role in growth and job creation. According to him, the current administration has chosen to confront that challenge directly.

“The Tinubu administration understands that sustainable economic growth begins with empowering the productive sector. By supporting small businesses and young entrepreneurs, government is laying the foundation for long-term prosperity and shared economic progress,” he said.

The APC Chairman highlighted three key support packages.

First is the ₦75 billion Presidential Intervention Fund for MSMEs, which he described as a landmark initiative providing accessible financing to small businesses across different sectors. He said the fund is helping entrepreneurs expand operations, improve productivity and hire more workers.

Second is the ₦11 billion support package channelled through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria. He said this investment is aimed at strengthening the capacity and competitiveness of Nigerian SMEs.

Third is the ₦30 billion Youth Entrepreneurship Fund being implemented through the Niger Delta Development Commission. Professor Yilwatda said the fund reflects the President’s commitment to equipping young Nigerians with resources to turn ideas into viable businesses and become drivers of national development.

According to him, the impact of the interventions is already visible. Across the country, young entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers, traders, tailors, manufacturers and other small business owners are accessing capital to grow their businesses and employ more people.

He noted that the benefits go beyond individual recipients. The programmes are generating a multiplier effect through increased productivity, higher household incomes, stronger local economies and more opportunities for wealth creation.

“The APC remains committed to building an economy that works for all Nigerians. These intervention funds are not mere policy announcements; they are practical investments in the dreams and aspirations of millions of our people,” he said.

“The evidence is clear. Businesses are receiving support, young people are being empowered, jobs are being created, and economic inclusion is expanding. This is governance that delivers results, and it is another demonstration that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is keeping his promises to the Nigerian people.”

Professor Yilwatda reaffirmed the commitment of both the APC and the Tinubu administration to policies that promote entrepreneurship, stimulate investment, strengthen local industries, and build an economy resilient enough to deliver sustainable prosperity for all Nigerians.
