In continuation of the significant blow to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Dr Aisosa Amadasun, a prominent former State Woman Leader, has officially resigned from the party.

His resignation is the latest in the gale of resignations that has hit the party in recent times.

Amadasun, who joined the PDP alongside Governor Godwin Obaseki, cited dissatisfaction with recent developments following the gubernatorial primary election as the principal reason for her departure.

In her resignation letter dated May 17, 2024, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 11, Oredo, Edo State, Dr. Amadasun expressed her gratitude for the opportunities and experiences gained during her tenure with the party.

However, she emphasized that the recent party activities were unacceptable, prompting her decision to step down.

Amadasun’s resignation adds to the growing list of high-profile exits from the PDP, signaling potential instability within the party ranks as it navigates internal conflicts and prepares for upcoming governorship elections.
