Alhaja Bose Adedibu, the widow of the late petrel of Oyo state politics, Lamidi Adedibu, who is the PDP South West Women Leader, has lamented the sudden exit of the Iku baba yeye, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo, describing it as the fall of a pillar of support to her family after the death of Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu.
In a press release made available to newsmen on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 after iftar, Alhaja Bose Adedibu described the exit of Oba Adeyemi, Iku baba yeye as a big blow to her and the household of the late Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu.
She said: “The entire household of the late Alhaji Ariyibi Lamidi Adedibu is writhing in pains and sorrow because of the sudden ascending into the vault of Alaafin Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, who was until he breathed his last a wonderful and awesome pillar of support to our family.”
She stated that out of all who promised heaven on earth after the late Adedibu’s death, Kabiyesi Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was one of the very few people who proved to be a friend of the Adedibus after his death.
She said that: “when it comes to the real matter of ‘soju ka seyin’ that is, taking care of the family left behind by a deceased, Kabiyesi, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was exceptional. He was a pillar and a shield. He was a shelter who never waited for us to call for shelter. Kabiyesi was always there calling and asking after each of us.”
Alhaja Bose Adedibu prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi
“I pray to the Almighty Allah, the beneficent and the merciful to grant him mercy and forgive him all his sins.”
She said that “I appeal to all the family of Baba, my mothers, Iya Ile Koto, Mama Lawyer, all Oloris, all the Princes and Princesses, the Oyo Mesi and the entire Oyo Alaafin Empire to let us seek fortitude in the fact that Baba Alaafin Adeyemi lived a beautiful and evergreen memorial life. Also remember, we, the Adedibu’s family of the great Antigisi clan of Oyo Alaafin are in this together. We have lost an irreplaceable soul. We have lost a father. We have lost an enigma. Only God can console us all. Yoruba race lost an enigma. Aljaena firidus for his soul.”
