The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday, announced 501 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-218, FCT-112, Kaduna-53, Plateau-24, Katsina-21, Kano-16, Yobe-14, Ondo-10, Ogun-9, Edo-7, Bayelsa-5, Rivers-4, Borno-4, Osun-2 and Ekiti-2.
The agency said three deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,218 on Saturday to 1,221 on Sunday.
The data from the agency disclosed that 519 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 68,303 while 8,910 cases were still active in the country.
NCDC explained that the discharges on Sunday included 208 community recoveries in FCT, 126 in Kaduna State and 35 in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
