2023: Twitter users call on PDP to field Peter Obi/Kwankwaso on party’s presidential ticket

Twitter has been agog with calls of thousands of users in Nigeria for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to field former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and the former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as presidential ticket in the 2023 election.

Obi, the running mate of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election, via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, declared his intention to vie for

Obi had said he would contest the PDP presidential ticket, if the party zoned its ticket to South East.

Kwankwaso had also declared his intention to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in the next year presidential election on the platform of the PDP.

It would be recalled that Kwankwaso was among the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirants who contested against Buhari for the party’s ticket in 2015.

Meanwhile, Nigerian have since taken to the micro-blogging site, urging the party to present the two politicians as the presidential candidate and the running mate for the 2023 poll.

The primaries of the party are expected to hold later in 2022.
