Money Laundering: US Court postpones Hushpuppi’s sentence

United States Attorney’s Office at the Central District of California has postponed the sentencing of suspected Nigerian fraudster, Ramon Abbas a.k.a Hushpuppi, till July 11, 2022.

February 14, 2022 was earlier fixed for the sentence, but Hushpuppi’s lawyers led by Louis Shapiro entered a request for postponement which was granted by Justice Otis D. Wright.

Hushpuppi had pleaded guilty to various offences bordering on internet scam and money laundering, among others.

According to the plea agreement document signed by Hushpuppi; his lawyer, Loius Shapiro; Acting United States Attorney, Tracy Wilkison, among others, Hushpuppi risks “20 years’ imprisonment; a 3-year period of supervised release; a fine of $500,000 or twice the gross gain or gross loss resulting from the offence.”
